Congratulations!
Your ONPOINT puppy has been born and now is the time to start preparing for its arrival in eight weeks. Check out our recommended "shopping list" below.

Beyond these items, also take this time to prepare your house for your new arrival. Puppies can be very destructive and will chew expensive rugs, electrical cords, and toxic plants. Just like with a young child, look around and see what could be a hazard.

It is also a very good idea to begin searching for an obedience school. Visit many and find one that you are comfortable with. We recommend that you take your pup to puppy classes (usually after 2nd set of shots at around 10-12 weeks). We have found that puppy classes are a very effective means to educate children about how to interact with your new pup. These classes are also an excellent way to socialize your pup and prevent later shyness problems!

It has also been proven that a pup that attends classes earlier on will have an easier time being trained later. It is best to contact an Obedience Club in your region, as they are the experts. You may have to reserve early, so now is the time to get organized. You may wish to join a Vizsla club such as
Vizsla Canada or Vizsla Club of America and other similar organizations. They are a good way to learn about the Vizsla breed and issues and activities pertaining to "our red dogs". The more you do with your dog, the more you will be rewarded with enjoyment and companionship.

Contact us anytime should you have any questions or concerns. We truly want to make the transition from our house to yours as smooth and successful as possible for your new friend.
