Hi Kim and John,
I just wanted to let you know that Phoenix is settling in well. She is full of "puppy frenzies" and is keeping us on our toes!
She has taken to the crate really well and only cries for about 5-10 minutes before settling down; even on the first night. A very pleasant surprise!

She is eating about 1 cup of food per day. We have needed to offer three times a day to get her to eat that much, but I am sure that will improve when she gets more comfortable.
We have had a few accidents in the house, but many, many more successes outdoors.
Thanks again for making this happen for us!
Talk to you soon,
Steve

Hey Kim,
I just wanted to send a little update on the puppy we've named Silas. We can tell he's getting more and more comfortable with us and our home. He's gotten into a pretty appealing routine of eat, play, sleep, play, sleep... and trying to pick up on the housebreaking rules whenever he can, (which he's doing fantastic at, he knows to go to the back door when he has to go out). The first night was a lot of crying and not a lot of sleep. But the last three nights he's pretty much slept the whole night through. He's such a sweet little guy. He's been eating fine, and seems to be adjusting well. Our schedules are in and ideal routine right now for a puppy, between the two of us, so it's good to know we'll be able to put in all the effort he needs! We'll keep you updated on his progress! We've signed your copy of the agreement and will send it in the mail this afternoon.

Thanks so much,
Katlyn and Mike

Subject: Puppy Update

Hi Kim,
I just thought I would send an update on “Ain’t Taking Shots.” Well, I guess first I should tell you I changed his name to “Chance,” it was much easier to grab his attention. He is now just over six months old and doing fabulously. I can’t imagine to going back to life without him. He comes with me almost everywhere I go. My family and friends adore him – even one of my best friends who is afraid of dogs has offered to watch him if I go away on vacation without him!!

We’re almost finished with round two of puppy classes (Intermediate). He is very intelligent and picks things up usually the first time – and once he’s got it, he doesn’t forget, although sometimes is selective when he listens as all puppies are. After round two I think I’ll wait about a month or so and make sure he’s solid on all the commands we’ve learned and then we will enter the “advanced” class. It’s been a great way to spend time with him and you can see that he really enjoys working, the attention he receives and pleasing me. After advanced class we may try flyball or agility for fun, and by then he will be a very well rounded, obedient pet. The trainer has called him “brilliant” which can be deadly for me if I’m not paying attention to what I’m doing!!! Haha..

... There is a group of us girls who all have dogs around 2 and under who like to hike, bike and run. Chance LOVES going hiking with “the pack” and has finally figured out that no matter what the pack sticks together – even when fun/distracting things are going the other direction... He likes the beach, is learning to like fetch and loves to run off-leash – he’s pretty good at coming back when called too. He seems very interested in the water, but it’s still a bit cold for him to go past his belly.

I have to commend you and John on raising such wonderful and beautiful dogs. He gets commented on everywhere he goes. He has such an amazing personality, I feel very lucky – a little spunky at times but it makes for much fun, and is a perfect match to my own personality. I’ve been stopped many times to be asked if I’m interested in breeding and I have just passed the Onpoint name along. I really can’t thank you enough. I couldn’t have asked for a better addition to my home, and if I feel this way through all the puppy misfit, I can’t imagine how I’ll feel a year from now.

All the best.
Connie
