We are still overwhelmed with the puppy. We have named him Buddy and he is doing so well. He is eating great drinking water great.. going to the bathroom most of the time outside. He started sleeping through the night on Monday so that is good also. He is enjoying walking on a leash for a short period of time. Garry lets him run allot and he loves it. His love and affection is overwhelming. School is finished on Friday so we will be off for 2 weeks. Can't wait. I have attached a few pictures, he loves to pose for the camera.

Subject: RE: Scott and Joslyn Wilson Dec 27 - Puppy Picture
Hello Kim and John!
Things have been going remarkably well! We got Jasper home with no fuss, in fact she was happy just sitting there on Joslyn's lap and chewing on a small toy all the way to Kingston. She went for a pee in the back yard when we got home and we spent the next little while following her around as she explored the living room. I've attached a picture of her setup to give you an idea of her new home.
She's got a few irritated bumps like pimples on her belly but we're not concerned. I think they're just from kennels and nips and things and they'll sort themselves out in time. She seems 100% healthy and she has a great demeanour. She's confident and willing to follow us everywhere with a good dose of independence as she peels off occasionally to explore the back deck or around the back of a shrub.
She has been an absolute joy these first few days and we hope that these easy nights continue and her wailing after playtime (but before nap) diminishes. She is gorgeous and seems pretty smart for something only 8 weeks old!
More reports and pictures to follow!
Scott and Joslyn
Spencer and Hannah
and of course, Jasper (AKA Stella By Starlight)
Jasper has slept through both nights from around 11pm to 7am with no fuss!
There have been no accidents in the house at all and she even pawed on the patio door once when we were playing indoors so we went out and she peed right away. She is so loveable. She had her first bath last night and it went fairly well though she was pretty shaken up by the ordeal. She forgave us within minutes. She has been pretty vocal when we leave her in the crate or in the enclosure. She REALLY wants to be with people and despite her howls and "arabic war cry", we've been consistent (I hope) in ignoring her demands and only going to her when she is calm and quiet. She eventually either passes out and sleeps or sits there in the middle of the pen waiting after the initial tantrum wears off. Hopefully over time and ignoring the wailing she'll get the idea.

Subject: Thanks for the dog
Dear Mr. Reid,
I purchased a dog from you 5 years ago from Deja and Newman and I wanted to give you an update on her. She has been a very tough dog to train but her natural ablities are incredible. I have always enjoyed pheasant tournaments and as a pup in the Illinois Upland, she was high point puppy of the year and fourth in points overall. The Illinois Upland stopped running their tournaments the following year but their main hunt club took the tournements over.since then Onpoints New Wild Deva has been the high point dog of the year and won the championship 4 years in a row. I have always trained with guys running in NSTRA and wanted to get in their events but was unsure of the dogs abillities. Last September the chairman for a trial called me and said he had one run open if I wanted to get in and get my feet wet. I agreed and Jess went birdless!I was very dissapointed to say the least. In October there was a opening for their D/D so I was pushed into entering. Her A field run produced 3 birds and 3 retrieves, not enough for a placement. Her B field run was a different story!! She was braced with a 2 time champ english pointer and came away with 5,5 and a back for a total score of 1032. Unfortunately another dog went 7,7 and we only got 2nd. place. Between the two fields, Jess had the two top scores in ground coverage and obedience. The judge for the second field told me she was the best vizsla he's ever judged and one of the better dogs he's seen this year. Don't know if I can get a championship on her, but I now have the confidence to try. My true love is wild pheasant hunting here in Illinois and Jess every year is getting better and better at pinning these birds. I have shot over 138 wild Illinois pheasants over her in these 5 years. Illinois doesn't have a great population of birds so the # is better than it sounds. After the wild bird season ends I guide at a big hunt club. The clients somtimes panic at Jess' big run but when they see her bird finding abillities and staunchness on point always ask for me and her for their future hunts. Sorry for bragging but just wanted to let you know how good of dogs you are producing and when I am ready for my next dog, I will be definately calling both of you up.
Thanks again for a great dog and Happy Hollidays.

Subject: Update on Ildi
Hi Kim,
She's settling in well. We can't believe how smart and trainable she is! And cuddly to no end.
After the first day she accepted her crate nicely, with usually just a minute or 2 of light whimpering. Housetraining is going well too and with lots of vigilance her success rate at choosing outside over inside is almost perfect (knock on wood!). So far she curious and brave, accepting her first meetings with kids, vacuum, laptop, coffee grinder and even the neighbour's frantically barking Pomeranian with good manners and style. She's also learned "come" and loves playing the game of being called back and forth between us (it took her 2 repetitions to realize this was the pattern and then started bouncing back and forth across the yard between us). Oh, and she's also very quickly learned "sit" and that the behaviour that gets her back in the house after "her business" is a polite sit at the back door.
Her fetching instinct is strong too...and we've caught her pointing at her target as well. I've attached a picture from last night of her riveted on her stuffed duck. Our main challenge when she learns so fast is to not inadvertently train too many attention getting behaviours!
Thanks again for raising her up...we'll keep our fingers crossed and do our best to keep her entertained and learning.
Chad.
